We would like to thank Kim & Joe for selecting The Event Company to be a part of their 7.7.07 wedding in Charlottesville. The festivities started with a beautiful poolside BBQ dinner at Clifton where the bride & groom lounged with family & friends and shared gifts with the wedding party, their children. Kim also suprised Joe and everyone else (okay, we did know about it in advance!) with a great addition to their wedding weekend- a 1955 Chevy truck which he LOVED!

While Kim & Joe’s guests were enjoying Keswick Hall’s golf course & pool, we transformed the ballroom into the vision that they had originally shared with us about a year ago. Softly lit sheer white fabric draped the entire room, lounge areas were created around the dance floor and tables were dressed with sheer floral overlays to match the paper sample that Kim found & loved. Pat’s Floral Design did a beautiful job with the flowers- high & low arrangements of cream & green (with a little touch of purple-Joe’s favorite!). They also incorporated mahogony candlesticks and rustic lanterns to perfectly match the chandeliers that were installed by the AV company just for their wedding.

Following a beautiful cermeony at Grace Episcopal Church, guests were treated to a cocktail reception & dinner at Keswick followed my dancing the night away to a Jazz Band and DJ. The AV company provided lighting for the event which we were able to change from the original candlelight feel to purple (the newlyweds’ favorite!) among other colors for dancing.

The remainder of the evening consisted of toasts (our favorite was given by the couples 10 year old son), wedding cake & mini ice cream cones and everyones favorite…mini cheeseburgers! Kim & Joe departed through sparklers and their guests left with miniature lanterns that said “Thank you for brightening our day. Love, Kim & Joe”

Lucky for all of us, the day was beautifully documented by Bill & Anne Holland who are always a pleasure to work with! We will be posting photos in the near future. In the meantime, check out their blog for some of the favorites!

Summer Events August 24, 2007
As Summer comes to a close the the students return to the University or Virginia, The Event Company would like to take the time to thank the local clients who chose to work with us this season! Here are pictures from a few of the Charlottesville events that we had the opportunity to be a part of this Summer.
Happy 20th Anniversary SNL Financial!
“20″ Cupcakes, balloon columns, festive flowers & linens (and most importantly custom SNL bottled water) were the perfect way to celebrate on a hot Summer day in Charlottesville!
UVA Alumni Association Gala
The University of Virginia Alumni Association partnered with us on their Reunions Weekend Gala event this year. The alfresco dinner was held on the UVA Lawn. Our favorite part? Four large screens flanking the Rotunda displayed black and white photos from each classes time at UVA. As the evening progressed images changed to color photos from the event.

Evan Almighty Charlottesville Premiere
The Event Company worked with Universal Pictures to create the “green” themed Charlottesville premiere of Evan Almighty. You may have seen the green carpet and banners on the downtown mall…we also incorporated spandex linens, colorful florals, lounge areas and dramatic lighting in the Omni Charlottesville’s atrium and ballroom.
