It isn’t often that we have time to document the transformation of an event site while we are installing and setting up for an event. I had a selection of images from our very first site visit to Woodhaven Farm, the site of Ali and Matt’s fall wedding and still cannot believe the makeover! Thanks Jen Fariello for the “after” image!
Janet & Michael October 20, 2008
Thank you and Congrats to Janet and Michael who were recently married at Grace Church in Keswick, Virginia on what proved to be the most beautiful weather anyone could have hoped for! We had such a great time working with Janet and Michael on all the details of their event as they welcomed a small group of 60 close family and friends to a destination wedding at Keswick Hall. Janet and Michael had stayed at the hotel previously and knew they wanted to bring their friends and family to this gorgeous site for their fall wedding. We transformed the ballrooms and terrace outside with the help of The AV Company and Pat’s Floral Designs who filled each guest table with arrangements of white orchids. Guests enjoyed a two course dinner and late night snacks by the chefs at Keswick Hall, and also a stunning cake from Albemarle Baking Company. Afterwards BS&M offered guests an evening of music from traditional to contemporary complete with a Michael Jackson impersonation! Thank you to Jen Fariello for sending us such great shots!
Angela & Webster October 17, 2008
Thanks to our friends at Holland Photo Arts for sending us a wonderful selection of images from Angela and Webster’s August Wedding at Veritas Vineyards. We had a great time working with Angela and Wesbter between their very busy work schedules to create a destination wedding weekend for all of their guests and family. Beginning with the Rehearsal Dinner at the local Charlottesville restaurant of a friend of the couples that was finished just hours before the event to a perfect August ceremony where the clouds and heat faded away. The reception was filled with fun personal touches from a specialty cocktail created by the Groom’s brother to a selection of rustic farm tables set as the head table. Angela selected the jeweltoned colors of aubergine and deep red to create a rich color palette which played perfectly against the chocolate brown linens and wooden floor at Veritas. Lighting supplied by The AV Company highlighted the floral arrangments and wooden candlesticks provided by Pat’s Floral Designs and washed the room with an amber glow. Angela, Webster and their guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner by the team at Veritas and danced the night away to the tunes of The Jangling Reinharts followed by a surprise encore of “Brown Sugar” played by the band and the groom’s brother!
Ali & Matt October 15, 2008
Congrats to Ali and Matt on their recent wedding, held October 12th at Woodhaven Farm in Scottsville, Virginia. We were so lucky to work with Ali, Matt and their families from the very beginning of the planning process as we all worked to transform their wonderful working farm into an elegant and sophisticated location for their fall wedding! It took looking at the farm from a new perspective to begin planning out all the sites that guests would visit throughout the event. During one of our first visits to the farm, we eyed a lower meadow near the house that offered a perfect plateau for the ceremony to be held and gave the natural fall backdrop that Ali was looking for. In addition, kudos to Ali for what is for sure the longest processional walk any bride has ever made; and all through what was once a cow field! Guests left the ceremony and joined the cocktail hour which was set amongst the large oak trees surrounding the house and throughout the old barn which made the perfect site for a very hip and trendy lounge. We invited guests to dinner in a peak tent set perfectly by Virginia Tent Rental under a pair of antique chandaliers and floral tablescaping provided by Pat’s Floral Designs. Catering was provided by The Event Company and Chef Mathew Allen. Guests dined on a menu of Roasted Butternut Squash soup paired with a salad of Arugula, Watercress, Pear and Fig Vinaigrette followed by an entree of Flank Steak with Parsley French Beans, Wild Mushroom Risotto, and Garlic-Red Wine Reduction. Ali and Matt joined the dinner by way of the farm tractor-quite the entrance!
After dinner we transitioned guests to the nearby dance tent which was set aglow by The AV Company and provided the perfect setting for Ali and Matt’s vintage style cake complete with monogram from Cakes Unlimited. There was not an inch of open space on the dancefloor thanks to the talented and fun guys that make up The Dickens! Mostly thanks to Jen Fariello who made it possible for us to get the images from one of our favorite weddings all year up just days after!
