One of our favorite weddings of last year, Nancy and Heyward have been featured in The Knot!

We always love working with Allegra Helms and this event was no different as she continues to leave brides and grooms with the most magical images from their big day. Thanks to Allegra for capturing such a special wedding. Read the article here.

Artini III July 17, 2009

Last month we worked with Second Street Gallery  on their fundraiser, Artini III.  The event is held in the IX building which is an abandoned warehouse space in downtown Charlottesville that is transpormed into a dance club for the night.  We had a great time working with the gallery staff and the many gallery supporters & event vendors who donated their time & services to support contemporary art in Charlottesville.  Here are a few shots of the IX building as a work in progress-

You will find shots of the finished product by Jason Lappa on his WEBSITE.   It was quite a transformation!

Escort Card’s little helpers July 1, 2009

Ever so often we have a moment to come up with creative ideas for all the little details that make up our events. Currently, I am loving coming up with new, funky and surprising ideas for escort or place cards. Attach to your escort or place card, or write your guests’ names directly on!

Enjoy!

One of our corporate clients has hired us to cater an event for them at the local bowling alley next week.  Chef had a great time coming up with an ‘upscale bowling menu’!  Today we created custom food labels to match their theme.  We will also be decorating with themed linens & bowling pins.  (We apologize for the amateur photography but wanted to share today’s project!)

marisa and Kurt June 16, 2009

Thank you to Marisa and Kurt for working with us on their intimate wedding held at the Clifton Inn. We only met with Marisa and Kurt two months ago to begin the planning, but pulled off a lovely ceremony in which Marisa honored her father and festive celebration! Marisa invited her family to join her early in the afternoon to begin family photos around the beautiful site, and then we invited all guests and family to join us on the croquet lawn for the ceremony.

Guests celebrated cocktails on the back terrace, and a 2 course seated dinner on the Verandah, before spilling back out onto the terrace for cake cutting and their first dance to “Amazed” by Lonestar. Sparklers off the front porch completed a perfect spring evening.

A cupcake that looks like a slider? These are the perfect late night snack for guests with a sweet tooth!  We saw these on the Killah Bees blog.

Or, if you want to offer your guests a variety of sweets? Check out these ‘quarter sized’ cupcakes from Baked By Melissa.  With flavors like Smores, Cookie Dough & Peanut Butter and Jelly, your guests will never be able to eat just one!

Homestead Preserve May 26, 2009

Thank you to our friends at The Homestead Preserve for including us in their wonderful Memorial Weekend dinner!

Built in 1928, the Old Dairy Barn complex at Homestead Preserve once served all the dairy needs of The Homestead and was Bath County’s only commercial dairy.  Today there are seven original buildings, built in the Colonial Revival and Craftsman styles, as well as two silos making up the Old Dairy complex.

Old Dairy served The Homestead well into the 1970s, but was then abandoned for three decades.  Thanks to the $6 million restoration efforts of Homestead Preserve, the complex has been revitalized into a community center, complete with recreational facilities, meeting space, and Homestead Preserve Community Association and Virginia Hot Springs Preservation Trust offices.

Old Dairy is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also designated a Virginia Historic Landmark.

We had a great time taking the drive over to Bath County to offer our catering services to the group of 90 on a perfect summer evening!

We will see you in October!
